Veterans Day Tribute

Veterans Day is a day to pause, give thanks, and celebrate the service of the men and women of our armed forces.

This year our celebration will occur November 9-10 from 12-2pm near the entrance to Meadows. We encourage all families to drive through our valet by on either of these days to pick up a flag, reflect upon the sacrifices our veterans have made for our country, and plant your flag in the grassy areas in front of our school. Social distancing and mask wearing is required.

On November 9th, long-time Meadows supporter and army veteran, Mr. Guzman, will also have his personal collection of historic military uniforms on display.

Pictures from this event will be incorporated into our celebration video which will be shared shortly after Veterans Day.

CAASPP Browser for Mac Computers -For Grades 3-6 Taking IABs

If students are taking their IAB exams on Mac computers, you will need to download the proper secure browser to access the CAASPP website. Here is a link you can use to help with the download. This applies to students grades 3-6 only taking the IAB. The IAB is not a high stakes test but will help inform teachers on student progress and help prepare students for the standardized test, the CAASPP.

Update from Student Council

On Monday, Nov. 16th we are having a Canned Food Drive during distribution day. When families come to pick up supplies, you are also welcome to drop off non-perishable food items. We will be donating the food to our local food pantry. Wednesday, Nov. 18th is our next spirit day, which is Sports Day. Students can wear anything sports related (jersey, shirt, hat, jacket, sweatshirt, etc).

Reminder: No TEACHER Office Hours on Friday

Instead of Office Hours, hybrid teachers are being asked to use the next few Fridays to set up their physical classrooms to meet all of the county requirements for a safe return to school. This includes Friday, 11/13 and 11/20. Thank you for your understanding. All teachers are preparing for our students to return. We currently do not have a timeline for reopening. Our district did submit an application to the Los Angeles Department of Public Health, for the K-2 Waiver for Reopening. The County DPH has acknowledged receipt of the application, but no timeline has been given. The only program that is allowed to return is our Meadows SDC program, which we anticipate reopening mid-December.
