Message From Principal Webb
Hello families-
Longfellow had another busy week with PTA PBIS night, Fire Safety presentation, and a fire drill.
We also acknowledged positive behaviors on Friday with a double yellow ticket day and prizes. Keep up the great work Longhorns!
Information on our fall parties and parent-teacher conferences will be coming next week from the classroom.
Sincerely,
Kelli Webb
5th and 6th grade Music Invite!
Start your day out right, Longhorn families! Come listen to the Longfellow 5th and 6th grade musicians on Wednesday, October 16th in the MPR between at 8:30 and 9:30 AM!
Longfellow parents/guardians: treat yourself to an auditory feast with your morning coffee on your way to work: a rhythmic explosion on drums, gourds and other percussion instruments in the MPR! All are welcome! Stop by to listen for a while...come and go as you please.
Between the hours of 8:30 and 9:30 AM on October 16th, 6th graders will be playing some Adenkum and Bobobo music from Ghana, and 5th graders will perform a tune from the Caribbean and demonstrate drumming in the style of Ghanaian 2-3 beat music.

Teacher Feature: Tennille Nelson
Meet Tennille! Tennille grew up in Iowa City, a graduate of West High. Wanting to further her education, in hopes of helping others in her community, she decided the University of Iowa School of Social Worker offered the best program that suited her ambitions. After graduation, Tennille worked at Montessori Iowa City, until she found her niche in the ICCSD. Currently, she serves as the School Facilitator for Longfellow and Twain Elementary. When asked what she loves about her job, Tennille says, "I enjoy the adventure every day brings!"
Tennille lives in Iowa City with her husband, Dante, two sons, and one daughter. In her free time she enjoys baking, reading, and going to her children's sporting activities. Welcome Tennille to the Longfellow Longhorn Family.
