Quist ROYALS Weekly News
April 14, 2023
Hello ROYALS!
I have had the pleasure of supporting Quist for two weeks. In these two weeks, it has been a joy working with both teachers and students.
Safety is a priority at Quist Middle School. With the end of the school year upon us, it is increasingly important for us to provide structure and consistency in order to continue a focus on teaching and learning. It is our expectation that students respond to reasonable requests made by any staff member throughout the building. Examples of reasonable requests include, but are not limited to:
- Walking in the hallway
- Keeping voice levels at an appropriate level
- Student being where they are scheduled to be
- Orderly transitions between classes and lunches
- Keeping hands to self
- Keeping classrooms and hallways clean
- Having a pass if they need to leave class for any reason
In return, you can expect from us that we will treat each child with dignity, care, and respect. We want to end the school year strong. It takes each individual with the Quist Middle School community to create a safe and caring learning environment. We appreciate your help in reinforcing these expectations at home.

Registration information for 2023-24
Quist Families of current 6th and 7th Graders,
It is finally the time of year that our kids have been waiting for, COURSE SELECTION for the 23-24 school year at Quist. They will be selecting classes in Pathways on Wednesday, April 19th. Please review the attached course catalog with your student this weekend. We encourage our students to put a lot of thought into their selections, and choose classes that they are interested in and enjoy. Schedule changes in the fall are very limited so we hope they take course selection seriously. We build our master schedule around the classes that they tell us they are interested in. Keep in mind that course selections are not a guarantee that they will receive every class that they request. Our team does our best to put them in as many of their selections as possible.

Fill-the-Truck
Great news! Harambe and Thornton Fire Department are joining forces this month to serve others by hosting a "Fill-the-Truck" Pathways competition. New sock donations will be collected April 11- 28th. The Pathways which collects the most new socks wins time with the Fire Department. We will have a fire truck out front on April 28th to fill it full of socks! The Fire Department will then donate the socks to help those in need in our community.
