Alberta is in the western part of Canada next to British Colombia and Saskatchewan. The capital of Alberta is Edmonton and Calgary. Calgary and Edmonton are the largest city's in Alberta. The rocky mountains run down the border of Alberta and British Columbia and extend into the united states.

The distract of Alberta was created in 1882 and in 1905 Alberta became a province. The flag for Alberta was adopted in June 1 1968. The name Alberta was suggested by the marquess of Lorne, Governor General of Canada from 1876 to 1883, in honor of his wife princess Louise Caroline Alberta, daughter of queen Victoria.

Alberta's flag has a blue background the center crest is Alberta's provincial shield which consist of a red cross on a white background. At the top snow covered mountains, green hills, yellow prairie and yellow sheaves can be seen. The flag was adopted on June 1 1968.

The great horned owl is the most Common owls in Canada. They hunt at night they mostly feed on rodents and rabbits. They often mate for life laying 1 to 5 eggs each year and is Alberta's provincial bird.

The wild rose has very prickly stems and it blossoms with pale to deep pink in June and July. It is a very common flower and is Alberta's provincial flower
