Merry Christmas!
Monroe Catholic Elementary Schools: St. Michael & St. John
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
I would like to wish all the parents, students, teachers, staff and other members of our community a very Merry Christmas, and a safe, joyous and restful Christmas Break!
We have many things to celebrate this Christmas Season! First and foremost is the birth of Christ, our Savior, who we recognize and pray to on a daily basis at MCES. Without the birth of Christ, there would be no reason to celebrate, as He is the one who brought light to the darkness and saved us from sin. Throughout this Advent Season, our students have remembered this joyful event in song, schoolwork and celebration. I invite you to view these exciting events on our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/mcesmonroe/. Our youngest students in the childcare center created crafts and celebrated with a family Christmas potluck. Preschool and Young 5s belted out their favorite Christmas songs. Kindergarten and 1st Grade performed a variety of Christmas carols, including a visit from the Friendly Beasts! Our 2nd, 3rd and 4th graders wowed the audience with their singing abilities, with many solos, instruments, and readers. Great job everyone!
As we reflect on the second half of 2018, we have had many exciting events from grandparents day, story time with Santa, Trunk or Treat, and many more planned by out PTO. Thank you to all the parents, grandparents, and volunteers who have made these events great times of fellowship and fun for our students and community at large. We have many more to look forward to, including Catholic Schools Week and more!
2018 also saw the start of our All Day Preschool Program and we were able to welcome many new families to MCES! Please remember that the main way MCES becomes a stronger school is through your word of mouth and telling other families about the great experiences you have here! We are grateful for your partnership in Catholic education and are honored to have you as our ambassadors! Thank you for promoting MCES in such a positive manner.
In addition to all the events and fun times at MCES, we are also blessed to have students that excel in all areas of academics. This is truly evident in the conversations I am lucky to have with them and in the large numbers of students that achieve honor roll each quarter. To our students, keep up the drive to excel and learn new things! We are also working on implementing a wider range of service learning into our curriculum. Classes have undertaken projects, such as food drives, visits to Marian Place, letters, coat drives, and more to help those in need. We have many more ideas to come in the new year.
What makes MCES so strong is the incredible teachers and staff we are truly blessed to have. Thank you for your energy, enthusiasm and passion for Catholic education. It is incredible to observe the witnesses of faith our teachers provide to our student body. The adventures our students embark on daily require a great deal of time and effort in planning, and they do it out of passion for learning. The teachers and staff truly live out our #alwayslearning mentality. Thank you!
I believe MCES offers a truly exceptional educational experience for our students, staff, and community. Thank you for being part of it.
I wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a Joyful New Year.
God Bless,
Mr. Kubik
