FROM THE PRINCIPAL...TONY WHITE
So it goes for parenting. Often, I'll hear parents (not only at school but friends of mine, family, etc.) tell me, "I'm never going to let my child struggle." I think this is a highly noble statement; however, when our children inevitably struggle (as all living things do), if this is our goal, we'll feel like failures as parents. From there, we could intensify our efforts and try to outright eliminate any challenge or uncomfortable feeling for our child so he or she does not struggle.
Instead, to my friends and family who have this noble goal, I propose a new one: "My child will have the resilience to take on any challenge that comes up." Our Eagles must know that hard times come to everyone, and that they have what it takes to overcome it. They have it within themselves and they have a strong support network that believes in them in their families, friends, and community. Our Eagles are strong. They were born strong and made stronger by the lessons you've taught them, the faith you have in them, and the love you show them everyday.
Have a wonderful weekend, Norton Creek, with your favorite people in the world! Also, my apologies for any Signup Genius issues. I'm brand new to it and making tweaks as the day goes on so it works as well as it should for all of you.
