PTO News
URGENT! The Mother/Daughter and Father/Son events are in jeopardy of being canceled this year. In order to keep this from happening, we need 2-4 parents (per event) to step up and volunteer to chair/co-chair them. If interested, please respond below or email roseglenptoboard@gmail.com NO LATER then January 18th.
Treasurer needed: Are you good with numbers and want to help Rose Glen succeed? Our current PTO Treasurer is at the end of her term this school year. We are looking for someone that would be willing to shadow the role with her the rest of the school year and then take over the role for the 2019-2020 school year. If interested or want to learn more, email roseglenptoboard@gmail.com
5th Grade Dinner Committee: Looking for 4th graders parents to help plan the 5th grade dinner for our 5th grade students who will be moving on to Les Paul next year. We ask 4th grade parents to help out, so that 5th grade parents are able to enjoy the night with their students. If interested, please email roseglenptoboard@gmail.com
Next PTO meeting is 3/5 at 6:30pm in the Rose Glen Library.
Reminder
Parents who are taking their children out of school for more than one day, for any reason, still need to complete a pre-planned absence request form in addition to putting in the new Safe Arrival system. These forms are available in the office and on the district website.
Lost and Found!
Please take a look at the below items and let us know if you recognize any of them. As many of you are aware, we tend to accumulate A LOT of lost items throughout the year. Each week we will send a picture of lost items for you to claim. If they are not claimed then we will ensure that they go to a donation center in our area. What is most helpful is if you label your child's clothing and school items. We can then easily identify the item and make sure that the lost item is found and hopefully also save you a trip to have to buy another one. Please label items such as jackets, sweatshirts, water bottles, and lunchboxes. As winter approaches please make sure that you label boots, snow pants, hats, and mittens. Black snow pants seem to be a favorite here at Rose Glen and so labeling them will ensure that everyone has their own black snow pants and that if a pair gets lost then we can ensure it gets to the right child. Thank you for your help with this and looking forward to year with minimal lost items :) Please email Cathe Sweet at csweet@waukesha.k12.wi.us if you recognize any of the items.
You are welcome to come to school and look through the Lost and Found for your child's belongings, so you don't have to rely exclusively on our pictures.
Please contact us asap because all items will be donated on Friday, January 18th.
Raptor System
We would like to make you aware of a security upgrade at all of our schools.
Beginning Monday, Nov. 26th, all visitors who enter a school building during normal school hours will be required to check into the school office and present a valid Identification ( Drivers License, State Issued ID, Military ID, or Consular ID ). Upon arrival, the identification will be scanned using the Raptor Visitor Management System. This software was purchased using funds provided by the State of Wisconsin School Safety Grant. Raptor provides immediate, real-time background checks on individuals to identify sex offenders and deny them entry.
Once a visitor has been scanned, the system will print a visitor ID badge that is worn by the visitor for the duration of their visit. We ask that the visitor present their ID each time they visit and a new visitor badge will be printed. As staff members, we ask that you contact the office anytime a visitor is seen in your school without an ID that has been generated by Raptor. Of course, a School District of Waukesha ID is expected to be worn by all employees while in school.
We appreciate your cooperation and understanding with this new procedure, and know that you share our desire to keep our students and our buildings safe. Thank you.
