Self-Discipline: Know Thyself

As Pope Francis explains in the article below, understanding ourselves, and taking action to correct our Un-Christian tendencies, is an essential part of being a Christian. This requires both the commitment to consistently engage in reflection and self-assessment, as well as the resilience to come face-to-face with our sinfulness on a daily basis.

Archbishop Gustavo Has His Own New Website!

Check it it out below! It's very well done.

A Unique Statue From Catholic Charities

We've partnered a great deal with Catholic Charities to empower our students and our community through service. Check out the article below on a new addition at the D.C. branch of Catholic Charities that invokes this call to service.

LeBron James Is All About The Growth Mindset

The Spurs are the defending best team on the planet. LeBron James is the undisputed best player on the planet. Despite this status, LeBron James tremendously witnesses the Growth Mindset by not resting on his laurels and working relentlessly to improve.

Rather than sulking and being ashamed after missing two key free throws at the end of a recent loss in Houston, LeBron accepted the struggle as a necessary part of his improvement, his relentless quest to get better.

We strive to instill this attitude in our students: unafraid to fail and always being open to growth, especially learning from mistakes and struggles.

Ok, with all that said, "Go Spurs Go."

We Witness For Harley!

The Hugs For Harley Blood Drive was a smashing success. Over 50 people gave blood to help Harley. Big thanks to Ms. Elizabeth Cardenas for orchestrating the event. Many parents gave their time and blood, including Ms. Paniagua, pictured below. Way to witness Mavs!

AR Reader

Congrats to the 6th and 2nd grades! 6th had the most Accelerated Reader points, and therefore wins free dress on the Tuesday after Spring Break, and 2nd earned Spirit dress that day for the second-most points.

End of The Third Quarter and Parent Teacher Conferences

Friday, March 20th marks the end of the Third Quarter. Parent Teacher Conferences will take place the following week, on Thursday and Friday, March 26 and 27. Report Cards will be distributed at those conferences. All students whose parents attend conferences earn a free dress day for the week after Holy Week, and the class or classes with the highest percentage of parent attendance earn(s) a pizza party.

Athletics

There is not much to report on the athletics end, as the weather has been too lousy to play most games. However, did we mention that we have a Golf Team? Yeah!
