Reporting COVID-19 During Break

Even while we are away during Christmas Break, if your child or a member in your household has symptoms or has been exposed to an individual with COVID, please email the following Union Center Staff members:

We will return your email as soon as possible with a return date for your child. During this time, please continue to be very judicious in communicating any possible symptoms :)

Protocols and Guidelines

Just a reminder, the safety guidelines and protocols that have been in place at UCE since August will remain as we return to school in 2021! This means that students will still:

  • Wear facemasks throughout the day
  • Be seated in their pods while at lunch
  • Participate in recess with only the students in their classroom
  • Have assigned seats when riding the bus
  • Be required to hand sanitize and/or wash their hands throughout the day

We will continue to work diligently to keep UCE a safe and happy place for our students to learn!

Proper Winter Attire at Recess

Just a friendly reminder that upon arrival from break, students must have the proper attire in order to go outside for recess.

Since students will still need to rotate areas while outside, it's imperative that students be prepared with the proper snow pants, boots, gloves, and headwear in order to stay warm and safe while outside :)

Principal Fuller's Thoughts

Wow...the first half of the 2020-2021 school year is in the books!

Through all of the changes and struggles, EVERYONE (students, teachers, parents, staff, etc.) have worked so hard to make the first five months of school fun AND safe for everyone.

Whenever we go through difficulties in life (which everyone does), it's easy to let the circumstances around us dictate how we react to those situations.

As we close the 2020 Chapter of our Lives and look to open 2021, there are two quotes I would like to leave you:

"The struggle you are in today is developing the strength you need for tomorrow"- Robert Tew

2020 has been...rough, for lack of a better word.

This year has pushed everyone to the brink, whether emotionally, physically, or mentally.

But remember...we can allow our struggles to define who we are, for better or worse.

"Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself" - George Bernard Shaw

As we close out 2020, whatever difficulties and struggles we have faced, we have the opportunity of a new year to make ourselves even better!

I was never into New Year's as a child, but now as an adult, the new year represents an opportunity to create new goals and to reinvent myself.

As we enter into 2021, set goals for yourself: Health, Family, Financial, Self-Improvement....whatever you need in your life, tell 2021 that this year is going to be YOUR year!

In order to rise from its own ashes, the phoenix must first burn...2021 is going to be YOUR year to rise higher than ever before!

To all our UCE Families, Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!
