FAFSA (FREE APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL STUDENT AID)
FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) information will be based on 2015 income. You must fill out a FAFSA each year in order to be eligible for scholarships in the following year. If you need free assistance filling out the form, please call North Alabama Center for Education Excellence (NACEE) at 256-372-4600 and ask for Marcus Crutcher. Any student hoping to qualify for work study programs, Federal student loans, grants, or college, academic, athletic, and band scholarships need to complete this form.

ABC North Alabama Scholarship: The North Alabama Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) is offering a scholarship to students who are considering careers in the construction industry. The deadline for the application is April 1, 2017.

ACT Student Champion Scholarship: Applications are open for the ACT Student Champion Award! The ACT Student Champion Award recognizes one student in each state who is tenacious and persistent, no matter the challenge, and is prepared for life after high school with a goal in mind and plan in place.
ACT Student Champions receive a $500 non-renewable scholarship, certificate, and state-level recognition.

America's Farmers Grow Ag Leaders
AGC Foundation Workforce Development Scholarship: Associated General Contractors (AGC) and BYF are now accepting applications for the 2017 AGC Workforce Development Scholarship. The scholarship is open to anyone planning to attend, or currently attending, a technical school or approved craft training program. High school seniors, military service members, and postsecondary students are all encouraged to apply. Scholarships are valued at $1,000 a year for each recipient and can be renewed annually. Recipients will be notified in July and awards will be dispersed soon after. Applications must be submitted by June 1, 2017. Click here to apply!
AL Agribusiness Council Foundation Scholarship: The Alabama Agribusiness Council Foundation will be awarding $1000 scholarships to deserving students interested in a career in agriculture and agribusiness enrolled at any four-year institution in the state! Alabama Association of Conservation Districts Scholarship: The 2017 Scholarship Application for the Alabama Association of Conservation Districts must be received in their district office by 3:00 p.m. on February 1, 2019.
Alabama Association of School Office Personnel Scholarship: Last year, the Alabama Association of School Office Personnel awarded four (4) $1,000 scholarships to students pursuing a degree from a college of business or K-12 education. Alabama Center for Architecture Scholarship: The Alabama Center for Architecture offers scholarships for high school seniors who have been accepted to an accredited school of architecture. Application must be postmarked by April 5, 2019.
Alabama Chapter Z Scholarship Fund: Philanthropic Educational Organization (P.E.O) is an international sisterhood where women celebrate the advancement of women. For more information about P.E.O and its foundation visit www.peointernational.org. Students must have at least a 23 on their ACT, have 3.0 minimum GPA on a 4.0 scale, and be actively involved in extracurricular activities and/or work activities and the community. The completed application packet must be mailed to Alabama Chapter Z Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 24, Creekside at Collier’s End Mooresville, AL 35649 by December 1, 2018. The student must have two letters of recommendation with a specific format that can be found on the application and a high school transcript through the junior year, including a list of senior year scheduled courses. Alabama Department of Veterans Affairs Scholarship Program: The veteran must have honorably served at least 90 days of continuous active federal military service during wartime, or honorably discharged by reason of service-connected disability after serving less than 90 days of continuous active federal military service during wartime. Alabama F.A.M.E. AMT Program: Please take a moment to find out more about the Alabama F.A.M.E Advanced Manufacturing Technician Program (AMT) if you haven't already. Alabama G.I. Dependents’ Scholarship: As of Fall 2009, children and stepchildren of qualified veterans may receive five standard academic years (10 semesters) at any Alabama state-supported institution of higher learning or a prescribed course of study at any state-supported technical school without payment of any tuition, mandatory textbooks or instructional fees.
The key eligibility requirements are:
- Service member lived in Alabama as a permanent resident for one year prior to enlisting in Alabama
- Service member had to have served honorably for at least 90 consecutive days
- The service member must be at least 20% disabled at the time of discharge, or died as a result of military service.
Tuition, books, and admin fees are covered for up to 10 semesters.

Alabama School Public Relations Association: The Alabama School Public Relations Association is a statewide coalition of professional school communicators. ALSPRA offers financial support to students who plan to enroll in an Alabama college or university after high school graduation and who plan to seek a degree in communication, public relations, or a related field.
- Student members who are eligible may apply for the education scholarship program offered at the beginning of each calendar year and awarded at the annual ALSPRA Conference in mid-spring. Please click on the link to fill out the application and upload attachments required for the application.
- The deadline for the 2017-18 ALSPRA Student Scholarship is February 2.
Alfa Foundation Scholarship: The Alfa Foundation is awarding 100 scholarships worth $1,000 to students attending an Alabama college, university, or technical school in fall 2018. Applications will be accepted online through January 31, 2018 at www.scholarsapply.org/alfa.
Application requirements include:
- Minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent)
- Enrolled or planning to enroll full-time in an accredited Alabama two- or four-year college, university, or technical school for the entire 2018-19 academic year

AOD Federal Credit Union Scholarships: If your senior has been a primary member of the AOD Federal Credit Union for at least a year, contact Mrs. Jagielski for information about their scholarships.
Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery: The ASVAB is going to be given at Hazel Green High School on November 10, 2015, and it is entirely optional and free! It is a standardized test that is used by the United States Military as a guide for combining a person’s skills and interests to help to determine education and career paths. Aside from interests, these results are based on Verbal, Math, Science and Technical Skills. This test is optional, free, and provides students an opportunity to practice test taking strategies with a standardized assessment. A student does not have to be military bound in order to take this test. To register for the ASVAB, students need to fill out an ASVAB registration form. These forms must be turned into the Hazel Green High School Guidance Department or JROTC by October 30, 2015. The forms can be obtained via the Guidance Department, the JROTC Department, or on the Hazel Green High School Website.
Asia SiVon Cottom Memorial Scholarship Fund: Several awards of up to $2000 will be given to high school seniors planning on pursuing a STEM degree. The deadline to apply is May 6, 2019. Click here to apply.
Aspiring Nurse Scholarship: NursingSchoolsAlmanac.com has just launched its fourth annual Aspiring Nurse Scholarship. Our website will award a $1,000 scholarship to a future nurse in the high school graduating class of 2018.

Briggs Scholarship: The North Alabama Professionals Chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers (NAL NSBE Professionals) invites high school seniors to participate in the 2016-2017 Timothy Briggs Scholarship. NAL NSBE Professionals was established out of a need to stimulate and sustain minority participation in Engineering and the Applied Sciences. Scholarship Description: The Cystic Fibrosis Scholarship Foundation (CFSF), founded by a parent of a young adult with CF, is pleased to announce a scholarship program for students with cystic fibrosis. CFSF is not part of, nor is it funded by, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
The program is available to those who will be enrolled in an undergraduate program or vocational school in the upcoming fall. Scholarships will be awarded based on a combination of financial need, academic achievement, and leadership. Students must be enrolled in a minimum of 9 credit hours per semester. Approximately 60% of the students who have applied in the past have been awarded scholarships. Awards may be used for tuition, books, and room and board. Awards will be sent directly to the institution that the student is attending. Both single year and multi-year awards are made, generally for $1,000 per year. Students can reapply the following year for an additional award, but there is no guarantee they will receive one.

General Federation of Women's Clubs Legacy Scholarship: Annually GFWC Legacy awards a $500 scholarship to a female senior student based on volunteerism and community service. The deadline for the application is February 16, 2018.
