Dance Class News
The 8th Count Dance Center
Dear Parents,
Happy fall!
As everyone begins to settle in to new schedules with school, sports, and dance we like to make some reminders.
Rick will be doing all payments again this year. If you should have a question about your statement or need help setting up auto-pay, please call the studio phone at 330.527.0358 or email the studio at the8thcount@yahoo.com. He will return all calls or emails Monday-Friday. He will also be down at the studio on Monday nights from 4-6pm and some Fridays or by appointment. Miss Bessie is also at studio on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4-8pm and is in direct communication with Rick. Please do not send messages via the studio Facebook page concerning payments. We appreciate your diligence to helping us streamline communication and communicate directly with the person in charge of this area.
Late fees are posted automatically by Dance Studio Pro, and result in $15 late fee when accounts are left unpaid after the 10th. **Senario - John paid his daughter's account for 3-months in October. Technically he is paid through December. Clearly he is in good standing but Dance Studio Pro does not recognize that. Unfortunately that is a glitch in the software. This means that a $15 late fee will be applied to John's account. That also means that when we catch those fees, we will remove them but sometimes do not see them until the next payment is posted. We also understand circumstances like illness or a day when the 10th is on a Sunday that your payment will be there very soon. This results in a late. **Senario - Angela's daughter missed dance for a band concert. Angela planned on going to the studio to pay after the band concert. When she arrived, the studio was already closed. When she checked her emailed the next day, the late fee had already posted. However, when she turned in the payment the next class, the late fee was removed.
**New - we would like students, as they come into the studio, to get their shoes on and go quietly downstairs to begin stretching. We realize that sometimes the space issue on the stairway is crazy and we hope to rectify the issue by having students go down early. Dancers can use the downstairs seating area for stretching. We just ask that all students remain quiet and if they have noisy shoes, to keep their taps quiet until their class begins. If dancers have dinner that they are eating we ask that they finish upstairs in the lobby. We are trying this out and if this doesn't help, we will go back to the old way.
We welcome your comments and suggestions. If any parent/student wishes a private conference concerning your individual dance goals or financial concerns, please do not hesitate to ask. We are happy to work with you to ensure that your school year will be one of pleasure and growth. The entire faculty and staff wish you a fantastic year of dance!
Have a great week, the T8C Team

Policies 2018-2019
- Tuition is based on the entire year, but for your convenience is broke into monthly payments. Full payment for all monthly classed is due the 1st class of each month ($15 late fee assessed after the 10th). You may pay the tuition in full for the dance season or pay monthly.
- Tuition, registration fees, costume payments, competition fees, and performance tickets are non-refundable (if tuition was paid for the full year in advance, reimbursement for discontinued classes when notified in advance).
- You are charged for all classes registered for, not just the ones attended. If discontinuing classes all together, please speak with the office first. If a problem cannot be remedied, you must fill out a withdrawal form. An adult, not a minor must fill out the form. Leaving a message is not a form of withdrawal.
- All students pay a $15 registration fee at the time of registration (August/September). $25 per family.
- Monthly dance newsletters will be emailed throughout the dance season. The informative dance letters will keep you up to date on important dates, times, what's going on in the studio, tuition reminders, costume payments, recital information, holiday breaks, make-up classes, fundraisers, extra practices, parades/festivals/competitions etc. Other emails and calls may be made throughout the month. It is your responsibility to make sure we have the proper phone number and email.
- Regular attendance is important to keep up with dance. When an absence occurs, make up classes are not available. Your tuition is for 4 weeks in a month. Sometimes there are 5 weeks, your bonus. These extra days built into the schedule are sometimes used for snow days (depends on your class day). If a class needs made up, the instructor will choose the date and inform you.
- There is no "credit" given for missed classes and no refunds for partial months. Tuition is still expected in full.
- The 8th Count is not responsible for student property. Any student destroying or damaging The 8th Count Dance Center or other people's property at The 8th Count Dance Center will promptly be dismissed.
- The 8th Count Dance Center has a dress code. Please follow all dress codes!!
- All students' belongings must be kept neat. Please do not leave coats, boots, shoes, bags, food wrappers etc. lying around.
- The 8th Count Dance Center puts on a yearly recital. Recital is optional but rehearsal is mandatory for any one who wants to participate in recital. All balances must be paid in full before recital. Look for costume deposit dates in the newsletter.
- If your child is attending any class other than Tiny Tots, they need to attend alone. This policy will be at the discretion of the instructor. You will be allowed to visit during the scheduled parent observation weeks.
- Staff and parents of The 8th Count Dance Center might take pictures or video during the year of students. These pictures are used in promotional articles, ads, website, studio Facebook page and throughout the studio. If you wish for your child's photo NOT to be used, you must submit it in writing. Note - your students name will not be posted with picture.
- Encourage all students to wait inside the studio until a designated person picks them up. We can't always watch outside the building and can't be responsible. It is important that all students get home safely.
- Older students who are permitted (by parents) to go next door for food should wear cover-ups over dance clothes. Do not wear dance shoes on the sidewalk (or go barefoot). If leaving the studio during a break, students should get permission from his/her parent. Parents should discuss age, boundaries, and the buddy system if students are allowed to leave the studio. Teachers and staff are not responsible once a dancer leaves the studio.
- Students are not permitted to bring any drink other than water into classrooms. No food, candy, or gum on the dance floor. Students need to get in the habit of using the restroom before and after class.
- All students should be responsible for cleaning up after themselves. All food should stay upstairs in the waiting area and be cleaned up after consumption.
- Students with private dance lessons need to give a 24-hour notice of anticipated absence. Without official notice, full tuition will be charged for that day.
- The 8th Count Dance Center will continue charging tuition and will place costume order unless office has prior written notice of un-enrollment . This must be turned into the office manager.
- Company dancers understand that a separate contract is required.
