Scott 6th Grade Center's Motto- "We Enter to Learn and Leave to Achieve"
What Has Been Happening in Mrs. Marchesani's Classes?
Welcome Ms. Rebekka Gable, Our New FCS Teacher
We want to welcome Ms. Rebekka Gable to our Scott team. Ms. Gable will be our Family Consumer Science Teacher. Ms. Gable taught middle school science in Philadelphia and has a degree in Communication Studies. She recently earned her FCS certification. Ms. Gable lives in Coatesville and has two little children, three big dogs, and a thousand hobbies like hiking/camping, painting, sewing, and baking. She is so excited to join our team and can't wait to learn and grow together!

Focus on Ownership
We appreciate your support in helping us with this message!
Also, another reminder that students are able to eat breakfast in our cafeteria in the morning. If they come off a bus, they may head up to the cafeteria when they arrive. If they walk or are dropped off, students may head to the cafeteria as long as they are at Scott before 7:10. We have been reminding the students that Takis and candy are not breakfast foods that will fuel their body and brain to make good educational decisions. If they want to eat breakfast, they should be eating the breakfast that is provided by Scott.
Kindness Challenge
February 1st was the kickoff for a kindness challenge for our students. This will last for the month of February.
The students were given a checklist. The challenge is to complete the kindness acts and get the signatures of the people for whom they do the acts for, to verify that it was done. Papers will be collected each Friday by Student Council and hearts will be placed on the wall for each category each student completes.
If the students fill the cafeteria wall with hearts, they will earn a movie. When they complete all of the tasks, the students will place their sheet in the box in the cafeteria for a random drawing for an individual prize at the end of each week. Five students will win each week.
The overall goal, of course, is to add more love and kindness to our amazing school and to show our students just how much helping others can provide a warm, fuzzy feeling that wants to be repeated.
Black History Month
February is Black History Month. At Scott we will be celebrating and learning about a different influential person each morning. On Fridays there is a trivia question to answer for a prize. This week we learned about Mae Jemison, Aretha Franklin, Jesse Owens, and Michael Jordan. Students and staff are looking forward to learning about and appreciating these important historical figures.

Please consider supporting our students as they have been working incredibly hard this year. Please use the link or QR code below to purchase either candy tins or chocolate boxes. Nurse's Corner
- Only 30% of physicals have been submitted to the nurse. Please take your student to their PCP for a well check and immunization update. All students need a Tdap (after age 10 ) and Meningitis vaccine to attend 7th grade.
- All health screenings have been completed. Any student who failed their vision screening was mailed a referral to have an evaluation by an eye specialist. If you need help making an appointment or your student refuses to wear their glasses, please let me know. The referral form, after the eye exam, needs to be returned to the school nurse.
- The Mobile Dentist is coming to Scott 3/7/24. Please register on-line : https://www.myschooldentist.com/SMCAPA_schsrm or complete the consent form being sent home this weekend return to the school nurse
- Gentle reminder: Hygiene, please continue to monitor your students showering and clean clothes choices. As their bodies change, so do their hygiene needs.
- Three student nurses from Immaculata University are completing their Community Nurse Clinical here at Scott. They are scheduled to be with me on Tuesdays and Wednesdays until March 30th.
