Podcasting has surged in popularity among youth in recent years and has been called "education's secret weapon" for diversification of learning. In this dynamic session you will explore classroom-tested formats for student podcasts, effective lesson planning, how podcasts help boost student engagement and achievement, and also cover the technical aspects of creating and sharing podcasts. You will leave with ready-to-use resources to get started with podcasting in your classroom right away. You will be prepared to create your own podcast to share with students! This session is appropriate for educators at any grade and any subject area. CESA 10 College and Career Readiness has professional podcasting equipment to loan to make your projects shine!
Learning outcomes include:
- Learn how podcasting can be used for differentiated instruction and assessment.
- Understand how to plan a lesson or unit using podcasting.
- Experience planning, recording, editing, and publishing a podcast.
- Learn how to utilize classroom technology resources and free online tools to create high-quality podcasts with students of all ages.
This workshop is offered at no cost to those districts participating in College & Career Readiness LS2, including Abbotsford, Bloomer, Bruce, Cadott, Chippewa Falls, Colby, Eleva-Strum, Flambeau, Gilmanton, Greenwood, Lake Holcombe, Loyal, Mondovi, Neillsville, New Auburn, Osseo-Fairchild, Owen-Withee, and Spencer. Discount will be automatically applied.
The cost for all others is $500 per participant.
