CIS Weekly Update
#5: September 20-24
PRINCIPAL MESSAGE
Our 6th week of school will be a short one. Friday is a professional development day for our teachers and there is NO SCHOOL for students.
Our read-a-thon got off to a great start with over $6,570 collected as of Tuesday! Students have already read a total of 14,197 minutes!! Please continue to register your students and help them solicit donations. Students are logging their minutes as they read in school and at home. We will continue to track the minutes read and donations through Monday September 27. The top two students in each class, who solicit the most donations, will be included in a donut party with Ms. Halicki and Mr. Cobb. All of the money collected from this fundraiser will be used towards classroom libraries.
Tomorrow we go back to masks being OPTIONAL. We will continue to be supportive and respectful of all students whether they decide to wear a mask or not. We are in this together!
Have a FANTASTIC week!!

CIS Counselors - PARENT NEEDS ASSESSMENT
Mrs. Rohrbach (our 5th grade School Counselor) and I develop our programming each year based on the needs of our students. We use a Needs Assessment that we give to our parents and families and also our students and teachers. This information helps us create classroom lessons, groups and programming that meet specific needs.
If you are willing, please complete the Google Form in the link below. It should take just 5-7 minutes. Also, at the bottom is information regarding Groups that we offer at CIS. If you would like your student to join a group, you can indicate this in the survey or send us an email. Thank you!

CIS Read-A-Thon - LET'S KEEP IT GOING!
We have already raised over $6500! All of the money is going towards new books for classroom libraries. Students who registered prior to today received a vinyl sticker for their water bottle or Chromebook cover. We will be focusing on reading from September 17-27. We hope everyone will participate and show our students how important reading is!
To register please visit: read-a-thon.com/readers and enter your student's HOMEROOM teacher code (see below). It is that easy!
