BoosterThon Money Spent!
Last night the RO PTA approved to spend $9600 on leveled books that our teachers use for small group literacy instruction everyday. This purchase will provide our teachers the resources needed to put engaging, high interest books in students’ hands that align with their individual reading levels. In every classroom at RO, we use assessment data to determine specific strengths and areas of growth in every one of our readers. In order to ensure that ALL of our readers continue to grow and improve, students must have access to texts that align with their individual readiness level. Our students will not know the "level of book" that they are reading, but they will be reading books that are 'just right' for them to read confidently and successfully. Our teachers work very hard to deliver this individualized reading instruction to our students and, thanks to your support of our PTA with events like BoosterThon, we now have significantly enhanced our ability to provide this level of individualized instruction to your child. This purchase will positively effect every student at RO, everyday. To learn more about the resource we purchased, you can click the link below.
Student Activity Fees: Please Pay ASAP
Please pay your student activity fee immediately to avoid any late fees!
In order to help defray/cover the costs of transportation and entrance fees for our NRT Sheep Pasture Program and the YMCA Swimwise Program (Grade 2 only), the Easton Public School system collects activity fees.
The fee is $45.00 for the 2018-2019 school year.
Pay On-Line (MySchoolBucks)
All elementary student activity fees must be completed online through MySchoolBucks. There are no service fees associated with paying online through MySchoolBucks.
The deadline for payment of this activity fee was October 12th.
These are 'digital natives'. We are teaching them how to have face-to-face conversations through active listening, proper body language and eye contact. This was the focus of our community meetings last week. We shared this video with our students to inspire our work.

Grade 4 Ability Awareness Days: More Volunteers Still Needed!!!
We are pleased to announce our Grade 4 Ability Awareness Days on Wednesday, October 24th and Friday, October 26th!
Ability Awareness Days will teach awareness, empathy, acceptance and inclusion for all students. We will feature activities on the following: Vision Impairment, Hearing Impairment, Learning Disorders, Physical Disabilities and Social and Emotional Disorders. All activities are timed and students will rotate throughout the room from one activity to the next.
Last year's program was a big success with so many awesome volunteers providing hands-on support at each station. If you can spare some time to help on either of these days, please see the link below. You do not need to have prior experience to participate! If this is your first time volunteering you will be paired with a volunteer from last year.
