A Moment With Mrs. O'Donnell

Dear Attea Families,

As our class of 2023 gets set to graduate, I reflect on how this group of students will hold a special place in my heart, being my first year as principal at Attea. With the combined effort from our entire staff, families, and students, we have collaborated to support our students academically, behaviorally, and in their social-emotional growth and encourage exploring their many interests. Our school year is starting to close; I am reflecting on how much I have learned from all our students and staff!

I am sure it is hard to believe for many parents that this upcoming week is the last FULL week of school for all our students. The two following weeks will be four days each. Our eighth graders' last day will be Monday, June 5th, while sixth and seventh graders will end their school year on Thursday, June 8th. We have had and will continue to have high expectations for everyone to show others the utmost care and kindness. I want every child at Attea to feel a sense of accomplishment, pride, and belonging! Encourage your child to BE Safe, BE Respectful, BE Responsible for the remainder of the school year, and finish strong!

Go Flyers!

Mrs. O'Donnell

Principal

Attendance 101

Accurate daily attendance is important to provide for the safety of our students. Click "Attendance 101" to review procedures for absence, late arrival and early dismissal.

Please remember to call the attendance line(847-486-7712) before 8:30am to report an absence, early dismissal or late arrival. Doing so helps to assure proper attendance markings. In the case of Early Dismissals, calling the attendance line early allows for a quick and easy departure from school after a parent or designated adult signs the student out.

8th Grade Graduation Party Volunteer Sign Up

Calling all 6th and 7th grade parents to help chaperone the 8th grade Attea Grad party!!! There is a long standing tradition of 6th and 7th grade parents managing the party for the outgoing class of 8th graders. It's a great opportunity to see what happens, what you would do when it's your turn and what in some cases you would opt NOT to do ;). We are asking for a time commitment of 7:30-11. Volunteers will move around the different stations during the party as needed. If you cannot commit to the entire time slot, please make a note in the comment box or contact Dana Doffin at dana.d.doffin@gmail.com or for Tricia Johnson at tmj1578@gmail.com Thanks!!!
