Shoreland Transportation
School safety is our top priority
Dear Shoreland Families,
In order to ensure the safety of our students, we need the support of our families. With our 640 students, it is paramount that we have students' dismissal plans in place by 3:00 p.m. Therefore, changes in how students will be going home cannot take place after 3:00 p.m. In addition, after 3:00 p.m. family members cannot come to the office to pick up their students for an early release. Please keep in mind, that late arrivals and early dismissals count against students' attendance records.
Please read this newsletter for a detailed plan for morning arrival and afternoon dismissal. Some of the procedures will be subject to change.
Thank you for making our students' safety a top priority.
Respectfully,
Kim Dedo - Principal
Charlie Bott - Associate Principal

8:45 a.m. – Students arriving at school via car or walking and are not eating breakfast at school
will enter through the main doors (Door 1) for car riders and courtyard (Door 11) for walkers.
No students will be allowed into the building prior to 8:45 am.
Parents/Guardians will not be permitted to enter the building.
Walker/Bikers
Dismissal Time: 3:15pm
The safety of our students walking and biking to school is a top priority: we request that families do not STOP or PARK on streets bordering the school property during arrival and dismissal.
Parking on other nearby streets or in lots where parking is legal, and then walking the short distance to and from the school is encouraged to help keep the traffic around the school at a minimum.
Family members that wish to pick up their students who are walkers can wait in our asphalt fire lane located behind the building, or wait by the flag pole in the front of the building. Family members are not permitted to walk up to the building at ANY TIME.
Car Loop
Dismissal Time: 3:20 pm
This school year our school will use an app/program called PIKMYKID.
- Families will receive a three-digit number that will correlate with each student. Please keep this in your vehicle, even if normally you are not a car rider!
- When families arrive in the car loop line they will display that three-digit code to an adult who will notify staff that the student needs to be ready for pick up.
- If you are picking up multiple students you will need to have the three-digit code for the students that you are picking up.
- Any questions please call the office or ask the student's teacher.
Car Loop Rules
- Do NOT get out of your car.
- Listen and follow the directions of the adults in the line.
- Put your cell phone down.
- Have your child exit and enter your car from the passenger side of the car and never cross between cars
Bus
Dismissal Time: 3:25 p.m.
Positive student behavior while entering, riding, and leaving the bus contributes in many ways to safe transportation. Correct behavior makes it possible for the driver to give full attention to the roadway and other drivers.
- All bus riders will dismiss from the cafeteria into our bus line.
- Each bus will correlate with a COLOR.
