October Newsletter
Montgomery High School
A Message from Principal Burbank
Dear Viking Family,
October looks like a very busy month for the Vikings.
Homecoming week is the week of 14th with activities through out the week. Homecoming dance on Saturday, October 19th.
On October 10th, our choral department under the direction of Ms. Alexander performed at the Church of the Roses. Our students did a fantastic job; the performance was terrific.
Hello Viking Families from Mr. Harkey, AP
Hello Students and Families,
I want to share with you all an exciting professional opportunity for growth within the district. I have accepted an assistant principal position at Santa Rosa High School and am looking forward to sharing my expertise and learning from my colleagues at SRHS. Although the timing of professional opportunities is often unpredictable, I look forward to what is ahead and continuing my service to our community at large. I have developed many positive relationships with students, family, and staff and will continue to do so no matter what school I am located.
During these coming weeks, I will be checking in with students, and I am confident they will be supported by our team of teachers, staff, counselors, and administrators. In any case, I will return to MHS next school year unless another growth opportunity comes up for me.
Montgomery High School is a big part of my life, and I value the connections made as well as the growth I have experienced along with the Montgomery students. Thank you Santa Rosa City Schools and Montgomery High School for hiring me to be an administrator for the last three years i
Sincerely,
Aaron Harkey
Open Enrollment: Oct. 1 - Nov. 15
Most students attend their neighborhood school, and build friendships and community there. Some students have reasons to request another school. "Open Enrollment," from Oct. 1 - Nov. 15, is the time to make that request for the 2020-21 school year. Applications must be completed online during that window.
Families who need assistance can come
to the SAFE office at 211 Ridgway Avenue. School capacities may restrict availability. See the SRCS district website for more information on Open Enrollment, also known as an "intradistrict" transfer. The online application will be available on the website beginning October 1st.
Information about our Parent Organizations:
Please consider joining our school volunteer program as our students can greatly benefit from your involvement and contributions to the school’s program and its operations. We seek volunteers to help us with the following activities:
New school meals payment app
Our district has a new way to pay for school meals online, called Titan. Parents who used to use MySchoolBucks will find that any remaining balance has been credited to their child's meal account. Click here to set up a Titan account. If you have any questions, contact Kylie in Child
Nutrition Services, 707-890-3800 x80701.
