Lights on After-School!
A showcase of our after-school classes
Join us in a Celebration of our After-School Classes
If you have a student in after-school classes, or would like to check-out our program, don’t miss Lights On After School, Thursday, November 5th from 6pm - 7:30pm at BHS. This event will showcase all the hard work students have been putting into their project-based classes. There will also be food and door prizes!
Launched in October 2000, Lights On Afterschool is the only nationwide event celebrating after-school programs and their important role in the lives of children, families and communities. The effort has become a hallmark of the afterschool movement and generates media coverage across the country each year.
Specifically, we will be highlighting our newly re-branded program, LEAD After-School, which focuses on developing leadership, artistic, mindful, and technical skills. Please join us in seeing what projects our after-school students have been working on, and participate in activities each class has designed to showcase their learning.
A catered and packaged meal will be provided for family members of students who RSVP before the deadline. Students and immediate family members alone are invited. You must RSVP in order to receive meals for your family. There will be a limit to the number of groups allowed due to COVID mitigation. The deadline to RSVP is Monday Oct. 19th.
Door Prizes
- Grand Prize - Nintendo Switch and game
- Burchell Swag
- Headphones
LEAD After-School is funded by the 21st Century Community Learning Centers Grant, a Federal grant that assists schools and non-profit organizations to help improve academic performance of its students.
