TOGETHER - Mustang Award
Our Mustang theme this year is "Together". Let's continue the recognition and thank yous. Each week we've enjoyed sharing the recipients for the TOGETHER award. Recipients receive this award because of the spirit of togetherness they've demonstrated to help McBride continue to be strong. You may nominate staff from McBride, staff from St. Helens School District, parents from McBride, community members from McBride/St. Helens - anyone that demonstrates working 'together' to help McBride continue to be the incredible school and community that it is. You may pick up a "Together" nomination form in the office or email Mrs. Tyler (lisat@sthelens.k12.or.us).
This week's award recipients......
McBride has an incredible team that supports our students. The nomination list could be 100 names long. Often times there are weeks that school and district staff members step up to guide us in our endeavor to provide quality behavioral instruction and supports. We cannot do the work we do without our team. Thank you to these team members who spent time this week supporting staff and students at McBride:
Lori Thompson - Director of Special Education - District
Jen Nelson - Special Education Coordinator - District
Danielle Herbert - Student Services Administrative Assistant - District
Debi Rhoades - Special Education Resource Room - McBride
Bethany Bowers - School Psychologist - McBride
Kerry Marshall - Counselor - McBride
Becky Franz - Student Behavior Support Specialist - McBride
Bridgett Harkins - Primary Intervention Room - McBride
Rosalie Sumsion - Title I Reading Teacher - McBride
Michelle Flock - Title I Reading Assistant - McBride
Sharon Shiel - Title I Reading Assistant - McBride
Brittaney Niebergall (3rd grade teacher), Jenny Kreafle (2nd grade teacher) and Rosalie Sumsion (Title I Teacher) - Thank you to these ladies for going the extra mile by organizing and sponsoring parent-child book clubs. They all did a fabulous job! Rosalie coordinated the whole event, Jenny sponsored “Stone Soup” and Brittaney sponsored “Tacky the Penguin.” These teachers invited students and parents into their rooms and discussed great books. They connected kids with literature, connected parents with children, and connected families to school. Thank you!
Rob Henningsen - Rob is our evening custodian and this week he agreed to add two students to job shadow him so they could experience the hard work that it takes to be a custodian. Thank you, Rob, for your willingness to support our students.
Julie Nelson - (McBride Librarian) Thank you, Mrs. Nelson, for organizing our Read Across America/Dr. Seuss Day Readers. There were first responders, members of the community and our former governor, Barbara Roberts. What a great event and it was special to have these folks reading to our students. Thank you, Mrs. Nelson.
Gail Martyn - (McBride Tech Assistant) - Gail has been nominated because she works tirelessly to make sure that McBride is ready for state testing. We thank her for the leadership she provides to our staff and students. Thank you, Gail!
