In 2007 Thirteen Rhinos were killed that year. In 2013 1004 rhinos were killed. The Black rhino population is down 97.6% since 1960.There are fewer than 900 mountain gorillas remain. Iconic animals like rhinos, elephant, lions, and the zebras are endangered.
How Poaching Effects the Ecostytem
Poaching animals can disrupt the natural balance of the ecosystem. For example, if a predator becomes endangered its prey is now overpopulated. The prey population will continue to grow taking up all the food, and living paces. Now this prey species has to either fight their own species or move in order to gain back their habitat, and food.
