Instructional Design
Emily Stull Richardson
Background
I have been designing and teaching hybrid and fully online courses for the past six years. Focusing first on learner outcomes and competencies, I then consider which web and desktop technologies to employ: researching, developing, and implementing curriculum and teaching strategies that support and enhance learning.
When it comes to education, I believe that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. What I mean by this is that teachers, students, and programs all have significant and important roles in the process of teaching and learning. Ultimately, my goal as an instructional designer is to provide pedogogical and technical expertise to help faculty navigate the intricate relationship between content, teaching, and learning, in order to create rich and meaningful learning experiences.
