Now Open: Explore More Day Registration!

The Explore More Day (EMD) committee is excited to be planning a great day for all Madison students on Friday, May 19! Students will have they opportunity to attend different classes throughout the day to try new activities of interest that they may not have experienced before.

K-1st grade: The kindergarten and first grade students will have a set schedule to follow that day so they will not need to participate in the registration process.

2nd-5th grade: Students in the upper grades will have an opportunity to select classes that most interest them to create an individualized schedule for their day. Class registration will be done electronically and opens today, Friday, March 17 after school and closes Wednesday, March 22. Students will be enrolled in classes based how early their registration is received so please register as soon as possible! Also, please note that registrations cannot be accepted after March 22 and students who do not register by the deadline will be placed in classes by the committee.

What to Know:

  • A Google form will be sent to the STUDENT'S email addresses and can be accessed on their Chromebooks.
  • We ask that ALL 2nd-5th grade students fill out the Google form even if you know they will not be in attendance. There is a question in the form to indicate non-attendance.
  • Course description forms were sent home with your child this week.

Your assistance with your child's course selections and timely registration is greatly appreciated!

Looking to volunteer? There will be many parent volunteer opportunities on May 19 so please stay tuned for volunteer information closer to the date!

If you have any questions, please feel free to email emd@madisonschoolpta.org

Wheaton Warrenville PTA Councils Seeks Executive Board Applicants

The WWPTA Council is seeking applicants to serve on its Executive Board. Current Board positions available include the recording Secretary and Vice President. These two roles play an integral part of the PTA Council - developing policies and supporting the PTA mission. The terms are one year, but the hope is that the VP will advance to the President role.

The PTA Council serves as a resource to District 200 PTAs - providing an opportunity to hear directly from Dr. Schuler about district initiatives and share ideas with other local PTA leadership about fundraisers, events and issues. A major initiative is awarding academic scholarships to 12 deserving seniors in District 200.

The time commitment is a few hours a month (significantly less than the elementary PTA commitment). This is a great opportunity for those that have served in previous PTA leadership to share knowledge and stay informed about the District. Alternatively, it can be a stepping stone into local PTA leadership.

The council would like to confirm the candidates for the two roles by Friday, March 31. If you or someone you know is interested, please contact: Lizette McNellis at lizmcnellis@gmail.com, Susan Anderson Susan.Joyce.Anderson@gmail.com and Katie Esso at kesso@hotmail.com.

Madison Signs Wanted

We're so glad you love your Madison signs, but we try to reuse them from year to year. If you still have one, please return it to the PTA mailbox (inside the front office) so we can distribute them to new students in the fall. No questions asked ;)

Also - the PTA is seeking a volunteer to take on New Family Welcoming for the 2023-2024 school year. If you're interested in helping please email president@madisonschoolpta.org.

Feedback Wanted: Parent Survey Open Through March 31

Our school community has been invited to complete the Illinois 5Essentials Parent Survey. The information you provide will help guide improvement as Madison strives to inspire each student to excel through the education and opportunities provided.

Your participation in this survey is voluntary and anonymous but crucial. The school will only receive results from the survey when at least 20 percent of parents respond.

Here's how to take the survey:

  • Go to: https://survey.5-essentials.org/Illinois to take the survey.

  • Select “Parent Survey.”

  • You may enter your email address if you would like to receive confirmation of your submission, but it is not required.

  • Then enter “[DuPage]” into the county field and “Madison” to find our school.

  • After you enter answers to the questions, please remember to click “submit” once you are done so your responses can be counted.

Please know that your identity and responses will be kept confidential and will not be connected with your child. If you have multiple children who attend Madison, you may complete one survey for each child. However, only one parent per household may submit a survey for a given child. The survey closes on March 31.
