COUNSELORS CORNER
Welcome Back Coyotes! We are excited to start this new school year and look forward to the time we will get to spend with you. As a reminder, our counseling team is here to help our students as they have academic questions, need general information, or if they struggle with social/emotional/mental health concerns and would like someone to talk to. Please see below for the list of counselors and how to make an appointment.
Counseling Staff:
- Brandon Outcalt, students A-F, boutcalt@jocombs.org
- Jolene Petersen, students G-M, jpetersen@jocombs.org
- Brenda Lohr, students N-Z, blohr@jocombs.org
- Stefanie McDowell, Student Services secretary, smcdowell@jocombs.org, 480-882-3540 ext. 7538
If you need to speak with your counselor, please make an appointment by emailing Mrs. McDowell using the following instructions:
- Email Mrs. McDowell at smcdowell@jocombs.org
- Let her know you need an appointment with your counselor (please specify)
- Give her the general reason for the appointment (personal, grades, credits, information, etc.)
- If you are an "in person" student, she will make an appointment and email you a confirmation. This confirmation will act as your pass to leave class and come to the counseling office
- If you are a "virtual" student, she will make an appointment and send you the google meet link. Your counselor will join you at the appointed time
As we get further into the school year, watch for information on FAFSA and college information, support groups, our new Mindfulness Room, and other counseling related information. Also, Seniors, we will be doing senior credit checks to ensure that you are on track for graduation, so please watch for an email from your counselor.
Stay safe, stay healthy!
