STUDENT PICK UP AND DROP OFF
- If possible, please drop off your student along Taft Ave. or Nichols Ave. near the campus as traffic in the parking lot as drop-off lanes will be congested BEFORE SCHOOL AND AT THE END OF THE SCHOOL DAY.
- Please be patient and follow the directions of our staff who are directing traffic and helping students safely enter campus.
Administration Update
September is Attendance Awareness Month
Orange Unified School District continues to strive for high overall student attendance rates. Student attendance has a profound impact on student success, funding, and resources. Our theme is "We Champion Attendance." Let's all work together to keep our students in school, attending their classes, and working towards their educational, career, and life goals!

The Parent Project - OC Sheriff's Department
The Parent Project is a 10-week course, facilitated by the Orange County Sheriff's Department which offers parents "concrete, no-nonsense interventions, and solutions to reduce and manage problematic behaviors" often found in strong-willed teens. Classes start September 11, 2023.

5-Star Students Program and Student APP Download
This year we will be using the 5-Star Students program at VP to help students increase their involvement on campus and hall passes. Students can earn points for attending events and participating in activities. More information will be shared about this app next week!

Class of 2024 Senior Store Gear Available Through September 15th
Senior spirit wear is available for the next 2 weeks. We have t-shirts, long-sleeved shirts, hoodies, and yard signs available.
This is a fundraiser for GradNite, Baccalaureate, and other Senior Graduation activities. Orders close 9/15, so get those orders in TODAY!
VPHS Theater Update!
VPHS Theatre would like to announce our 2023/2024 season. Our Fall play is a west coast premiere entitled, "MAKE 'em LAUGH"! Inspired by your favorite 90's sitcoms like "Friends", "Seinfeld", and the "Golden Girls" this comedy will transport you to the nostalgic world of 90's sitcoms.
We are pleased to announce that this year's Spring Musical will be the award winning, Broadway hit, "MAMMA MIA!" With songs and music from the acclaimed rock group Abba, this story of love, and self discovery will be guaranteed to have audiences of all ages dancing along! Stay tuned for more information regarding auditions!

Join the VPHS Academic Competition Team
Spartans: for 2023-24, we are offering an Academic Competition class which features the following:
- Fall - Mock Trial
- Winter - Academic Decathlon
- Spring: Model United Nations
This class will prepare students to compete in all three competitions. The preparation and education will develop numerous beneficial skills in a variety of subject areas.

E Sports Team Tryouts
Hey, Spartans! Do you play Valorant? If so, Our esports program is hosting tryouts next week, Wednesday through Friday from 5-7pm. Scan the QR code on the posters hanging around campus to join. If you have any questions stop by Mr. Larios’ room R2 to talk to our esports team!
Boy's Soccer Tryouts
Any Spartan boys interested in trying out for boys soccer, tryouts will be held Tuesday September 5 and Wednesday September 6th after school at 3:30.
Baseball Tryouts
Interested in playing baseball? Tryouts will take place September 11th, 13th, and 15th from 3:45 to 5:45pm. Additional information is on the @vphs_baseball instagram.
Girls Water Polo Tryouts
Freshmen and sophomore girls who are still interested in joining water polo, please visit room T-19 and speak to coach Carcich for more info.
