CLASS MEETING: GRATITUDE

Week of September 11th

Kinder - 2nd Grade

The focus of today's class meeting is Gratitude. Start off by showing them the Gratitude poster in your classroom. Read it and talk about gratitude with them. Then, show them the short video clip directly ABOVE.

Follow up with these questions:

What was bear thankful for in the story?

What were bear's friends thankful for?

Do you feel thankful when you're able to share with friends?

Do you feel thankful when someone else shares with you?

Have students write down (or draw) some things that they are thankful for. (Have some of them share with the group.)

3rd - 5th Grade

The focus of today's class meeting is Gratitude. Start off by showing them the Gratitude poster in your classroom. Read it and talk about gratitude with them. Then, show them the short video clip directly ABOVE.

Ask students to think of at least one thing/person/place that they are thankful for. (Allow some students to share.)

Follow up with the following questions:

Why do you think that gratitude and happiness are linked?

What things/people, etc do you think that you sometimes take for granted? (You may have to model this for the students first before they share.

Finish by having students make a list of things they are grateful for (like in the clip.) They can just start jotting down the things they are grateful for, or they can break it down.
