What's Happening in the Furr Fold!
Good Afternoon Furr Families!
Thank you for another fabulous week of fun and learning! It is such a busy time of year and it is sometimes easy to forget to be grateful for all that we have. I am exceedingly grateful for all of our families and your sweet children!
We have an incredibly busy two weeks left so thank you in advance for your patience and grace! Thank you all for your support and sharing your kids with us! Thank you for entrusting us with your children. The collaboration between teachers, families and students is what builds the solid foundation for our student's educational success. I wanted to thank you parents for your patience and grace. Please know that we are in this together as we educate our kids! Thank you for entrusting us with your children so that we can make the world a better place. It starts with us...Be Kind!
Respectfully,
Cindy Zukowski

PARENTS...DID YOU KNOW? The Health Screener needs to be filled out every time your child is absent from school. We would APPRECIATE your help with this. Yes, everytime your child is not at school, we would greatly appreciate you filling this screener out and submitting it. This is to keep...ALL OF US SAFE! Thank you for your help in this matter.
LEARNING OPTIONS: VIRTUAL vs. IN-PERSON. Prosper ISD has offered both an in-person and remote learning option for each of our students from the very beginning of this school
year, even though we were not required to do so. For some of our students, the virtual learning environment has not been the best learning environment to learn in.
Please click here to find out more about the virtual learning option.
VIRTUAL TALENT SHOW: IT'S HERE! 3rd GR - 5th GR ONLY! If your child is interested in showing off his/her talent, please sign up for the Virtual Talent Show!

BAD WEATHER: This is a reminder that if there is a possibility of bad weather that could result in the delay of the start of school or closing school, we will use CONNECT ED to notify you. You will receive an e-mail, phone call, and text message notifying you of the delay or closing. In addition, the information will be posted on all PISD social media outlets. Moreover, the local television stations will receive notice as well. Therefore, there is no need to call your child’s campus to see if we are having school. If you do not receive any notification, we will be having school and starting at the regularly scheduled time. For this reason, it is important to make sure that your school has the most up-to-date and accurate contact information.
STAAR TESTING: 3rd, 4th & 5th GR Parents! I have placed the testing dates in the "Important Dates" section below. Please make sure that your 3rd, 4th or 5th grader will have ample enough time to attend to the state tests by not scheduling an appointment on these designated days! Your help with this is greatly appreciated!
LABELING ALL ITEMS: Parents, if possible, please label all items that are sent to school with your child's last name on it. I would rather return an item, back to our students, than for any item never to be reclaimed again. Your help with this would be appreciated.
TARDIES: We have had many students late to school...and late to class, since our weather has started to cool down. When a student is late, they miss out on their class morning meetings! The first part of the day is crucial to the social-emotional well-being of all our students! The day is specifically designed around this and when our students are late, they are missing this vital lesson. Please make sure you are getting your student to school on time! Thank you.
MORNING ARRIVAL: DROPPING OFF YOUR CHILD: We have 2 areas designed for dropping off your student safely, the front (A-L) car line and the back (M-Z) car line. Please DO NOT drop your child off at the bike racks. This is not a drop off zone. Thank you for your help in this area.
PICKING UP YOUR CHILD DURING SCHOOL HOURS:
Parents that need to pick up their child from school during the school day should remain in their car and call the front desk @ 469-219-2280. School staff will then escort the child out to the car and verify identification before releasing the child.
Education, the foundation on which all lives are built.

FACE COVERINGS
@FURRELEMENTARY
Face coverings are required for all adults, 4th graders and 5th graders at Furr Elementary. We highly encourage ALL students, Pre-K to 5th grade, to wear a mask. All masks, brought from home, need to follow the PISD dress code requirements. Parents, please pack a mask in your child's backpack where it is readily accessible in case your child needs one. Thank you for your help in this matter.
Here at Furr Elementary, we will continue to follow and implement all guidelines set forth by our governor, local authorities and our district. We continue to enforce face coverings, washing hands, using hand sanitizer and social distancing on a continual basis. Please check our district website, Covid Dashboard, for any and all updates from our district.

EVERYDAY.....HEALTH SCREENER as a GUIDE to Send Your Student to School
Every morning before you send your child to school, please look over the Health Screener to make your decision of whether or not my child should come to school today. WE thank you for taking the time to answer these questions on a daily basis and...keeping our school community safe!
