The Seven Rules of Digital Citenzenship

1.Digital Etiquette:

Always treat others the way you want to be treated:

When online do not forget that the people who you are talking to are real and not just a silly icon so be respect to others and treat them how you wold like to be treated.

2.Information privacy:

Never give your personal information out, EVER! You can be giving your information out to some weirdo. Then, they would have your information and god knows what they will do with it. Before you give your information out think :

Who is getting it?

What would they do with it?

3. Social Networking

Never post any embracing pictures of yourself that you wouldn't want your parents, teachers, or classmates seeing!

4. Online Safety

Before giving out your personal information to a site try to see what the site is all about (name, address, email,birthday, etc)

5. Cyber Bullying

Never fight back to a cyberbully. they are only trying to get a reaction out of you so why play into their hands.

6. Plagiarism

Never take someones work and pass it off as your own! You could face harsh consequences like getting an F in the entire class or even getting kicked out of that school.

7. Copyright

Only You have the right to make a copy o f a song book poem etc.You can give other people the right to do that too.

What is digital citizenship?

Digital Citizenship is the set of rules that are for the internet. That refer to different topics such as Digital Etiquette , Information Privacy, Social networking, Online Safety, Cyber Bullying, Plagiarism, and Copyright.

Why is it necessary for people to understand and display positive Digital Citizenship practices?

It is imkportant because some people in the world are following these rules and some people are not and that is not fair to the people who are.
