South Central Conference Honors Top 5%
On March 20th at Honey Creek Resort the South Central Conference honored the top 5% of students in the 2018 graduating classes of each school district. Knoxville honored our top 7 students based on RAI score. During the evening students and families were able to hear the keynote speaker David Birchmeier an entrepreneur from Bloomfield, Iowa speak about his path to success. It was a great evening and a great way for the conference to honor students for their academic accomplishments over 13 years of schooling.

Thanks to the Knoxville Food Youth Initiative for donating to our Family Consumer Science Program!
6th Grade Science
After spending time getting acquainted with some of the vocabulary regarding DNA and genetics, the 6th grade Science students will be making models. Below each type of model they can make is a sample picture of what the models could look like. I ALWAYS say MIGHT LOOK LIKE because every year students use their creative talents to try ideas or things that I did not think of trying. It will be an enjoyable week.
ELEMENTARY NEWS
Northstar Spring Concert Night Details
The students will meet in either the vocal or band room and stay there unless they are on stage. We hope that all the students will be there. Please have your child there at least 15 minutes early to make sure they will be lined up with their class. Please keep your child’s coat with you. Your child’s teacher will probably not be there until a half hour before the concert, so if you come earlier you will need to keep your child with you until then. The concerts are all between 25-45 minutes long. Please plan to stay for the whole performance.
At the end of the concert we will be dismissing the students by class from the stage so that everyone can find their parents easily.
If you want your child to dress up, that’s great, but if you don’t, nice school clothes are just fine. Questions? Contact Carla Bauer at Northstar, 641-842-6527 or e-mail carla.bauer@kcsd.k12.ia.us.
