October Newsletter
A Message from Mr. Larsen
I hope all is well with you and your family. We had a fantastic Homecoming last week where students exhibited the 4 Be's (Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Engaged) and displayed positive school spirit. Homecoming Week is by far one of my favorite weeks to celebrate with students and staff. Thank you for a wonderful Homecoming.
KMMS is committed to creating a safe and welcoming environment for all. In order to maintain a safe and welcoming environment, we teach, model, and reinforce the 4 Be's in all that we do. Whether students are at lunch, in the classroom, or in the Media Center, we continue to support students in their own development of positive behavior.
In an effort to prevent bullying from occurring, the Student Wellness Committee has created the Bully Tipline form that can be found here. The bullying and harassment form was created as an additional way for students and parents to report acts of bullying. This form is not anonymous but provides an additional avenue of communication. Once the form is completed, it is sent to the three KM principals for review, investigation, discipline, and response to end bullying behaviors. The form can be found on any of the school homepages under the "Bully Tipline" link.
As we head into the month of October, the Wellness Committee is partnering with Angie Ellsworth, a regional expert in child development and behavior, to talk about mental health needs and bully prevention. Join us tonight at 6 pm in the KM High School and available live-streamed on the KM Activities YouTube Channel.
Thank you for your continued partnership with Kasson-Mantorville Middle School. We have had a terrific start to the school year and are excited to support your child's growth over the course of the school year. Should you need anything, please do not hesitate to contact your child's teacher/teachers or the middle school office.
Together in KoMet Pride,
Josh Larsen
Principal
