Thesis Statement

THESIS: In James M. Hunts “The Olympians”, Poseidon is the most significant god in Greek mythology that portrays being powerful and being greedy.

Summary

Poseidon is powerful and greedy from the myths that were based on him or around him. He was also the god that made horses. He was greedy because he wanted some of the god’s cities for his own. One of the things a god asked him to do was to create the most beautiful animal in the world and so he made the horse.

Introduction

For example, Poseidon is second only to Zeus in power amongst gods do to his strength and knowledge from the athenians.

“His weapon is a trident, which can shake the earth, and shatter any object. He is second only to Zeus in power amongst the gods. He has a difficult quarrelsome personality. He was greedy. He had a series of disputes with other gods when he tried to take over their cities.”

Explanation

This shows that Poseidon is powerful by creating horses and able to shape shift and 2nd strongest 2nd god. Then Poseidon is greedy by him trying to take over cities for his own use.


Conculsion

Finally that this shows Poseidon is one of the most powerful and greedy gods in Greek mythology from him being the god of sea and him taking cities for his use.
