Newsletter Week 8 Term 3
Meeanee School 14th September, 2022
MESSAGE FROM THE SWIVELLY CHAIR
I have now been at Meeanee School for 2 and 1/4 years. Finally I think we are getting to a point where adults are now able to come back into school. This means that Assemblies on Friday's can now be attended by parents again. One of our main goals has been to create an inclusive environment for our whole school community, and this has been really difficult when families haven't been able to come into school en masse. It will be great to see you back in!
As the announcement of a one off public holiday was presented I heard the collective groans from parents (including me). For us at Meeanee School it means that over 3 school weeks in a row we will have short weeks.
Week 10 Term 3 - Tuesday 27th September to Thursday 29th September
School Holidays
Week 1 Term 4 - Monday 17th October to Wednesday 19th October
Week 2 Term 4 - Tuesday 25th October to Friday 28th October.
Next term is also the shortest term of the year, being only 9 weeks in length. It is really important that students are at school everyday available. We have seen a big reduction in absences over the last two weeks which is really encouraging.
BOT elections saw only the current 5 parent members nominated so no vote needs to take place. Congratulations to Jo, Andrew, Chivon, Alisha, and Kim who remain on the board. They will be joined by our new staff rep, Kelly McKay.
Be Kind, Stay Safe,

POSITIVE BEHAVIOUR FOR LEARNING
RESPECT
We will try to solve our own problems.
Students quite often seek out a teacher before trying to work on the problem themselves. Teachers are giving students suggestions about how they can calmly discuss any problems they are having in their games.
