622 Education Foundation GrantED Award recipients
The 622 Education Foundation is excited to announce the 10 projects that have been selected for $500 grants based on the nominations we received this September. We were pleased to see so many high-quality applications from across the district, especially given this is our inaugural year of the program. As you can imagine, it was incredibly difficult for us to come up with a final list of projects to fund. We rated submissions based on four criteria (impact, innovation, foundation alignment, district priority) and sought out additional input from school administration as well as from the directors of Communications & Technology and Teaching & Learning.
There were a total of 27 submissions and 11 schools represented! We will work with the awardees to gather information related to project impact (pictures, video, testimonials, etc.) throughout this program and communicate best practices through a variety of channels in order to maximize the impact and build momentum for the next academic year. Thank you for your partnership and all you do to enhance the quality of education for students in Independent School District 622! Although our non-profit organization is separate from the district, we are dedicated to supporting it with the shared mission of creating, enriching, and expanding programs that enhance the quality of education for all students.

Former North theatre director recognized
Before last Friday's performance of 'Catch Me If You Can' at North, Activities Director Jed Helwig presented former North director Kevin Barnard a plaque to honor his 14 1/2 years of work with the program.
"Your guidance and mentorship have extended beyond the stage, as you have instilled in our students the values of teamwork, discipline, and perseverance. You have not only nurtured budding thespians but also shaped the character of young individuals, preparing them for success in all aspects of their lives," Helwig said about Barnard.
