Principal's Message
Dear Loma and CT Families-
My top 3 highlights from last week:
participating in last Friday's "Families Event". It was so great to see our staff and students as one large family. The kindergarten egg drop event was exciting.
SPECIAL thanks to Casey Lelake for organizing a fun eventcheering on the 8 CTE students who competed in the Cross County Finals. Aledia Nunn took home a medal with 9th place. Congrats to the entire Cheetah Cross Country Team for a fantastic season!
listening to the 5th graders make elaborate campaign plans as they prepare to run for student council positions.
Important Dates:
October 21: CTE Dance (Details in the HSC letter below)
October 28: Loma and CT Pajama Day
October 31: 12:30 dismissal both schools

Health Clerk Substitute Needed
Do you enjoy helping children? We need a substitute on occasion for our School Health Clerk. You would help students who aren't feeling well, tend to scrapes, apply ice packs, etc.
Please email or call Diane Harit if you would like additional information.

CTE Soccer News
The Girls Varsity team beat CSI 11-0. The score was all the more remarkable as due to the mercy rule 7 of the goals had to be scored from outside the penalty box
Goal scorers: Alana 4, Cali 3, Addy, Maia, Kaili, Jacqueline
The JV put in an incredibly brave performance against Moreland losing 2-4 in the end. This was an amazing effort as they had to play two thirds of the game with only 10 players after an injury.
COME HELP OUR FABULOUS STUDENTS
We need help serving breakfast and lunch to our 434 students at Loma & CT who are eligible for a free breakfast and lunch daily.

Halloween At School
Monday, October 31 is a 12:30 dismissal for both schools.
Halloween Costume Guidance
We are so excited here on campus to celebrate Halloween. Students have been asking for guidance on two things.
First- yes students may wear the inflatable costumes.
The second is regarding Middle School students arriving to campus in costume. Middle Schoolers will have a normal instructional day until 11:30am. Therefore, Middle School students DO NOT come to school in their costume. They will be provided time to change before Halloween activities begin.
Please use the costume guidelines below if your child plans to wear or bring a costume to school.
- Costumes cannot include any weapon. Please leave these at home.
- Please limit blood/gore as we have small children.
- No inappropriate slogans, language, or products.

Volunteer Vaccination Status Update
With the September 19, 2022 decision from CDPH regarding lifting the requirement for unvaccinated employees to submit to weekly Covid testing, our District, in collaboration with our union leadership teams, have agreed to lift the Covid testing requirement for unvaccinated volunteers effective October 5, 2022. As always, safety remains our top priority and we will continue to have test kits available for staff, students, and volunteers to use as necessary. In addition, we would continue to stress that should a student, staff member, or volunteer feel ill or have symptoms, please remain away from the school site so that others would not be exposed to any illnesses.
NO Summit Store On Fridays
Parents and Students-
The Summit Store has notified the district that effective today, NO students are allowed to be at the store unsupervised (without a parent), especially on Fridays.
The store will revisit this decision in December. In the meantime, please talk with your child (and their friends) about what the expected behavior is when interacting with summit store staff and patrons.
Thanks for your partnership.
Please remind your child that they MUST cross using the bridge and not to run across Summit Road.
