Message from Mentor Me
Hello Penngrove community. Although the rain continues to come, Spring is right around the corner. More sunshine and longer days gives us more time to spend with a mentee. Anyone can become a mentor if you are over 18 years of age and have one hour a week to give to a student. We also ask for a 2 year commitment, as it is so important to be a consistent and present person in your mentee's life for at least that period of time. The steps in becoming a mentor are:
- fill out an application here: https://wearementorme.org/become-a-mentor/apply/
- complete a 2 hour training at the Mentor Me Cavanaugh Center
- get fingerprinted.
Spring in the Garden
The Spring session of Garden, Nutrition, and Environmental Education classes begins Tuesday, February 5th! Volunteers are needed to make the experience the best it can be for students. Please check the schedule to see when your child’s class is in the garden, or when else you might be able to participate in planting, harvesting, tasting, art, science and more. Pictured above is one of the raised beds ready for planting. There is also an abundance of greens ready to harvest. Look out for a Kale Sale next week!

One of the programs supported through PTA, is to provide one field trip bus per classroom per year.
