Inclusion Week Dress Up Days

In 2020, Hanawalt was officially named a Unified Champion School. There are 110 schools around Iowa that have become Unified Champion Schools and work to bring opportunites to our school through Special Olympics.


The Special Olympics Inclusion Week will occur Febrary 27th to March 3rd. This years theme is EMPOWER. We would love to see your support as we particiaple with our Hanawalt Dress Up Days.

We will be hosting conferences on Wednesday, February 15th and Thursday, February 23rd from 3:00 - 6:30 pm. Conferences can either be held in person or over the phone.

Parents Night Out 2023

Get ready for a Hula good time! We are excited to officially announce Parents Night Out 2023, a Hawk twist on a lu'au, The Hanawalt Blu'au! Our biggest Hanawalt Community (PTA) fundraiser event of the year supports all students to access events, enrichment experiences, supplies, and so much more. The Hanawalt Blu'au is hosted by West End Architectural Salvage on April 20 from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Expect a night of fun, auction bidding, and building community. Hanawalt Community Meeting - March 6th

The next Hanawalt Community meeting will be on Monday, March 6th at 5:30. We will meet at Hanawalt to hear from Mrs. Liebl about testing scores, the ‘23-24 budget and general school updates. You can also learn and ask questions about our upcoming spring events like A Day in the Arts (ADITA), Parent’s Night Out, Party in the Park and more! Please feel free to come and go as needed.
