Next year teachers will have a stake in March Madness. The book nominees will come from the favorite middle school books of Wood MS teachers.

Technology Tip of the Month - StayFocusd, a Google Chrome Extension

StayFocusd is a chrome extension that helps keep a user focused on being productive. It restricts the time you spend on certain websites such as gaming or social media sites so that you can get your work done. Once the allotted time has been used, the site is blocked from the user for the rest of the day. If you are interested in downloading this free extension, you can get it in the Chrome Store.

Summer Reading One Book, One Summer

The library will be hosting a summer reading program for current sixth and seventh graders. The library will be giving away about 50 copies of The Mark of the Thief by Jennifer A. Nielsen at the end of the school year. The library will post t the exact giveaway date on its Twitter, Facebook and Instagram feed sometime towards the end of May. There will be a celebration at the beginning of the school year for those who read the book and submit an online 140 character count review by the first Friday of the 2015-2016 school year. We are hoping that part of the celebration will be a SKYPE session with the author of the book.
