DW Administrative Updates
Dear D103 Community,
I hope this message finds you well. As we prepare for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year, I would like to share some important updates regarding our administrative team at Daniel Wright Junior High School.
I am pleased to announce that Kendra Perri, our part-time Director of Curriculum and Multilingual Learning, will be adding to her role to become the part-time interim principal at Daniel Wright. Ms. Perri has over 23 years of experience in education as a teacher and administrator. I know her dedication and expertise will greatly benefit the school community. In the upcoming fall and winter, we will initiate a search for a new principal who will assume the permanent position in the 2024-2025 school year.
Ms. Melody Littlefair, Assistant Principal for Student Services, has accepted an assistant principal position at a high school near her home. Starting on August 1, she will embark on this new chapter in her career. Her passion for ensuring all students learn and grow to become responsible citizens will be greatly missed. We express our gratitude to Ms. Littlefair for her contributions to Daniel Wright and District 103 and congratulate her on her new position.
With the departure of Ms. Littlefair, we are initiating the search for a new Assistant Principal for Student Services for the fall. Interested candidates may find applications online on our employment webpage. We encourage qualified individuals to apply as we seek to find an exceptional professional who will uphold our commitment to student success.
To ensure that Daniel Wright receives adequate administrative support for the 2023-2024 year, we will hire a part-time administrator specifically focused on student welfare and behavior management. This addition to our team will help maintain a positive learning environment and promote student well-being. Applications for this position can be found on our employment webpage.
The community will see a familiar face in the fall at Daniel Wright as Dr. Nina Nusbaum will continue as Assistant Principal.
Finally, Dr. Michelle Blackley has been offered a position as Chief Academic Officer at Olentangy School District in Ohio. After careful consideration, Dr. Blackley accepted the position and will commence her new role on August 1. We are very thankful to Dr. Blackley for her work in leading Daniel Wright Junior High School as principal for the past nine years. Her commitment to fostering student growth and learning has left a lasting impact on the school. We extend our heartfelt congratulations and wish her the best in her future endeavors.
Thank you for your support and partnership as we move through these transitions at Daniel Wright. Enjoy the rest of your summer and we look forward to seeing everyone again in the fall.
Sincerely,
Scott Warren, Ed.D
Superintendent of D103 Schools
