Summer Learning in Estacada
Estacada School District Families,
In this newsletter we have compiled local programs and events to keep your students engaged, learning, and entertained over the approaching summer break. Many of these programs traditionally have associated fees, but due to additional funding the district has received, all fees will be covered by the Estacada School District. This will allow families to choose and participate in the program that is the best fit for their child, while removing financial barriers.
Contact information for each of these programs can be found in this newsletter. Many of the summer opportunities have limited spots available, so be sure to reach out to secure your student's spot. Please scroll through this newsletter to view the different available programs.
Outward Bound Summer Experience (6th-12th Grade)
Add teamwork and leadership to your summer learning plans With Outward Bound!
From credit acceleration to recovery, summer work to electives, if you are in Estacada schools this summer you are invited to join the Northwest Outward Bound School’s Instructors in an entirely different kind of summer program.
Northwest Outward Bound School Public Schools Program (PSP) brings the educational framework of our high-impact wilderness courses into local classrooms, serving schools in communities that have historically been excluded from outdoor recreation and experiential education opportunities.
Our summer programs are a progression of on-site team-building activities and discussions centered on fostering self-worth, teamwork, inclusion, leadership, and service. Each program includes an Insight Day field trip where students will participate in a challenge course, rock climbing or other adventure with our skilled Instructors.
If you are ready to add some challenge and adventure to your summer, sign up for the Northwest Outward Bound School’s Estacada programs! These experiences are free to students and help to develop skills and attitudes that will serve you well for a lifetime!
Programs in schools will consist of a progression of team challenges, reflective exercises and workshops around subjects like leadership styles, providing feedback and building personal resilience. Our programs are built intentionally to meet students wherever they are in their Social Emotional Learning and to be adaptive to their needs. Insight Days held offsite will bring students into new spaces where they will face challenges and push their comfort zones as a team at a local rock climbing venue, challenge course or similar location.
