Reflections from Elder's Desk
As we wrap up the fall semester, I am excited to relax, reinvigorate, and reflect on 2017 and begin goal setting for an amazing 2018.
This past semester, we noticed an improvement in our attendance rate, a reduction in discipline referrals, and academic progress with various students groups. As a school family, we have examined instructional strategies to help all students excel such as 9th grade vocabulary initiative, engagement strategies, and brain based learning. More importantly, we will continue our focus in these areas, address the opportunity gap with our students of color and students from impoverished backgrounds, and we will strive to help every student succeed. As we prepare our learners for what lies ahead, we must examine our own beliefs—teachers play a significant role in shaping students’ lives, and we can ignite the change we want to see!
Let me encourage you to reflect on the practices that you have implemented, make relevant connections, and be willing to help ALL students succeed. Thank you for the little extras you have provided to help enhance our school community.
You make a difference~

CSISD placed on the College Board’s 8th Annual AP® District Honor Roll One of 28 Texas districts and 447 US districts honored
College Station ISD was recently one of 447 school districts in the U.S. and Canada and one of only 28 districts in Texas to be honored by the College Board with placement on the eighth-annual AP® District Honor Roll.
It marks the fourth year in a row for CSISD to receive this honor.
CSISD was selected for increasing access to Advanced Placement (AP) coursework while simultaneously maintaining or increasing the percentage of students earning scores of 3 or higher on AP Exams. Reaching these goals indicates that the district is successfully identifying and preparing motivated, academically-prepared students who are ready for the opportunity of AP.
The complete 8th Annual AP District Honor Roll can be found here: 2017 AP District Honor Roll.
