A note from your teacher...
I'm looking for mystery readers to come read to the class. WE have been working on fluency and I would love if parents can come in and model reading to the kids. They hear me read all the time and I'm sure they would love hearing you too. If you are interested in coming in and reading a book to the students, please let me know! Just make sure you have a background check and have complete the anti-bullying video and you are set! :) If you are interested let me know and we can find a morning or afternoon that works. Your child can pick a book or we can find one for you.
If you have any questions, comments or concerns PLEASE let me know!

Looking into next week..
Read-A-Thon
This coming week we will NOT have a reading log for homework because of the CRES Read-a-thon. Please use the log from Read-a- thon to record reading for the week. If you don't want your kid to participate they can still log their reading on the log form.READING: We will continue our new unit on AMPING UP READING POWER.
WRITING: We had the chance to share adapted fairy tales on the library stage this week. The kids enjoyed popcorn as a treat while we shared published books. WE will continue to work with poetry next week.
MATH: We will continue learning more about telling time. We have mastered time to the 5 minute and quarter hours. We will work more with elapsed time and problem solving. I know that we have spent the last few weeks on money and time, but please don't forget to spend some time practicing addition and subtraction. The kids love IXL, Tangible Math, and practicing real world problems. Have some fun with math!
