Harmony School of Excellence Austin
School Closure Week Special Edition III May 12 2020
Announcements
Here are this week’s announcements:
Students are receiving weekly letter grades in Skyward. These letters indicate your child’s participation and mastery of the weekly assessment. These weekly grades will determine if your student passes, fails, or receives an incomplete for the 4th quarter. It is important to note that these grades may impact middle school students’ promotion to the next grade level and high school students’ credits. Parents, please log into Skyward to check your child’s grades and contact teachers with any questions.
- E means Excellent. This is equivalent to an A or a B.
- S means Satisfactory. This is the equivalent to a C.
- N means Needs Improvement. This indicates that your student requires reteach and reassessment. Students should schedule a meeting with the teacher so that they can receive support and redo the assignment. The students’ grades will then be adjusted in Skyward.
- If you child receives an “I” in Skyward, he has not submitted any work for the week. I’s will determine if students pass or fail the course for the 4th quarter. Therefore, it is important that students submit all missing work.
The deadline to turn in all Google Classroom assignments will be Friday, May 15th. Please inform your students’ that no make-up work will be accepted after this date.
Seniors’ caps, gowns and locker items will be distributed through the driveline on May 21st from 10:00 am -1:00 pm. To promote safety and meet social distancing guidelines, 6th-11th grade students will not clean out their lockers until restrictions have been lifted next school year.
Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns. We are happy to help. Ms. Gorman will be hosting Coffee with the Principal for the next three Fridays from 7:30 am - 8:30 am. Please use the embedded link to join the session.
