S.T.E.A.M. Night was designed to spotlight the importance of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics.

This event will provide Boone community members with the opportunity to promote S.T.E.A.M. in many aspects including within the classroom setting and within everyday life. In hosting a S.T.E.A.M. Night, we hope to increase confidence in ability revolving around S.T.E.A.M and provide our students with the opportunity to showcase their knowledge, achievements, and exploration of S.T.E.A.M.

Join us for a free evening of S.T.E.A.M. hands-on activities combined with opportunity for parent/child exploration, collaboration, challenges, and creativity.

In fact, the library has been open since October! Another thing that I am here to address is that there is a lunch survey that CPS has sent out. Please make sure to express your concerns freely. • Nutrition Support Services is calling on students to give their feedback on School Food! Please use the Mid Year Student ViewPoint Survey of School Food link to do so. Participation will help Nutrition Support Services and Aramark improve their food service program. This survey will remain open until Friday, March 10, 2023.

The Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) is the required Illinois state assessment for all 3rd-8th graders. Boone/Mosaic will be administering this assessment beginning on Monday, 3/13/23. CPS will continue to offer free, weekly in-school COVID-19 testing to students and staff who are interested. Importantly, anyone who wants to enroll in testing this year will need to fill out an updated consent form — regardless of whether or not you participated in weekly testing last year. That updated consent form can be accessed here. Consent forms from last school year or this summer will not be valid for the 2022–23 school year. However, once a student or staff member has consented this year, that consent will remain in place until they leave CPS.

Parent Portal gives parents the ability to view students' grades in real time. If you are setting up your Parent Portal account for the first time, please visit the First Time Parent Portal Set-Up link. This is a one-time step and not necessary after every school year. Once you receive your email from Aspen to help set up your username and password, you can access Parent Portal at Aspen Parent Portal.

If you already have a Parent Portal account, but are running into technical issues (forgot password, locked out, etc), please email Boone's tech coordinator Patrick Chi (ptchi@cps.edu) so he can reset your account.
