WHAT'S HAPPENING IN THE CLASSROOM??
- Homework: Students need to get their weekly reflection signed and complete their homework bingo sheet and math problem on the back side (blue colored paper). Please have your child return their gray folder with their completed homework sheet by next Friday 11/16. Gray Folders will not be going home over Thanksgiving Break, there will be different materials sent home for students to work on.
- Innovation: We will be working on our typing skills, coding, and learning about digital citizenship through the app Interland. Students will also use this time to work on their choice project for their animal presentation.
- Language Arts -This week we will finish Unit 3: Animal Adaptations. Some of the skills we will be practicing include identifying key details and main idea, using text evidence to make inferences about a text, and comparing and contrasting within a text.
- Math -UNIT 2: Concepts of Multiplication and Division. Here is the parent letter with lots of great information about what students will be learning in this unit and the vocabulary we will be focusing on in class. We will start to wrap up unit 2 this week and we will take our Unit 2 Assessment the week we return from break. I will be sending home a study guide for students to complete over break, and I will post an answer key for your reference as well. Continue to practice your multiplication facts at home!!!
- Writing -Students will finish up their animal report on the animal they picked. This week students will pick how they want to show their learning and present their information to the class.
- Spelling- We will be studying words with the closed syllable pattern. For example: sticky, blend, and better.
- Vocabulary- Students will be able to use reference materials to build their vocabulary. They will show their understanding of the words by using them in a sentence during collaborative conversations and in their writing. Some of our vocabulary words we will focus on in this unit are detect, exterior, moist, survive and formulate.
- 7 Habits - Habit 5: Seek first to Understand then to be Understood.
If you have any box tops at home please send them in! We collect box tops in the classroom all year long!
