SUMMARY: Emmie O’Brien is court ordered to time on the juvenile work crew as punishment for her involvement in a series of robberies. Max Shepherd, a varsity hockey player, is sent to the work crew after a series of altercations both on and off the ice. They’re like toothpaste and orange juice--a bitter mix--until they decide to help each other heal their wounded pasts. If only their pasts would stop trying to destroy their futures.
