Unannounced Observations
Since everyone's Level of Effectiveness is not updated in TNCompass, Adrian and I will begin unannounced observations next week.
Cell Phone Referrals
Please be sure to notify students when you write them up for cell phone violations. Stacey will process referrals and meet with the student within a couple of days to let them know which days they need to submit their phone and serve lunch detention, but the expectation is that the initial notification comes from the teacher (verbal).
New Scan Card Access Points
Several teachers have asked about additional scan card access points. Currently, you can gain entry at the front entrance, back lobby, and by the Ag room. We are expecting two new access points to be installed in November: Front Door of the Language Hallway & Back Door of the Math Hallway.
September Lunch and Learn
For our September 11 Lunch and Learn, Mr. Terry will be demonstrating how you can set up classes in TVAAS to see students’ performance on state testing. We started building a great culture around the data last year going into EOC testing and this will be a great addition. This will allow you to have conversations with your advisory or those students that you have built relationships with about meeting their full potential. If you plan to attend this meeting please let Jenn know. This will allow us to set you up in TVAAS ahead of time so that you can go through the steps with Mr. Terry.
Advisory Agenda
- Vote for Homecoming attendants.
- Medal of Honor Lesson A1 in Sharepoint; feel free to be creative with the plan and make it your own. Challenge students to perform a daily act of service in the coming week for someone else and be prepared to share next week in advisory.
- Check on your students' attendance and make calls home to those who have 2 or more absences.
- If you don't have the "Advisory Access" tab in Skyward, please email Adrian.
Positive Phone Call Challenge
We are extending a Positive Phone Call Home Challenge for the month of September. The challenge is to call 1 parent from each of your 6 classes every week during the month of September to brag on their child or just to make a positive connection with the parents. I guarantee that you will be glad you made this investment of your time. EVERYONE who completes the challenge will receive a prize. If you'd like Mrs. Wenning or Mr. Baker to call and brag on one of your students, let us know!
Sycamore PRIDE Tickets
Be sure to pass out all 6 of your PRIDE tickets EVERY week! You will have 6 more placed in your mailbox every week.
SAFETY
Staff, when you arrive in the mornings, please do not enter the school parking area through the exit (the first left into the school where buses exit in the morning).
Teachers, please remind your 1st period classes that bus riders need to stay on the sidewalk until busses come to a complete stop.
Discipline Auto-Emails
Now that Advisory is under way, the auto-generated discipline emails will be sent to students' advisors in addition to current term teachers. The intent is for you to be informed of any happenings with your students.
Sick Leave Bank
If you plan on donating to the County Sick Leave Bank, you must do so by the end of October.
Planbook
If you need help using the Planbook instructional template that Jenn and Adrian shared at the beginning of the year, let us know. Also, remember that you can email planbook, and they will add your state standards.
