Upcoming Lenten Activities

1. Pietra Fitness ( stretching and strengthening featuring Christian Prayer and meditation in the Catholic tradition.)will be offered every Thursday evening at 6:30 pm in the Franciscan rooms . This is an actual alternative to yoga for us Catholic folks . ( Tekla Bedwell ) will be leading the class. Starting March 7 th - April 11, 2019.

2. Most exciting is an invitation for a 40 hour Adoration opportunity . Starting with Friday evening mass at 7:30 PM, the 15th, and concluding with Sunday Mass at 9:30 Am. on the 17th. We would love to have school families, teachers and all parishioners involved in this.

Would love to see moms and dads who are willing to host an overnight for a small number of kids and then allow them to stay up or wake up and come to the church and adore Jesus in the middle of the night for an hour or so . Or come throughout the day . We have also invited Roncalli and all surrounding parishes to participate . But the thought is to do something really different and sacrifice time this year at the Most Blessed Sacrament.

3. On April 10 Wednesday - we are hosting a fasting ( during the day ) and soup and bread supper after the 5:45 pm mass.

4. Stations of the cross will be offered every Friday at 5:30 PM in the church with fish fry following on select days ( see bulletin for details )

5. We are asking all parishioners to bring non perishable foods to masses on Sundays throughout lent to stock the St. Vincent de Paul pantry at HN.

6. On Holy Thursday April 18th, we will be hosting the 5 church visitation on a bus. This event is very special and we have done it foe years. It’s a very special event for parents to do with their middle schools children . The Bus will leave Holy Name at 815 PM and return around 11:30-12 midnight .
