October is Bullying Prevention Month and Disability Awareness Month. It is so important to address these topics with your children, to ensure we have a community that is inclusive, kind, safe, and responsible.

COVID-19 Behavioral Health Toolbox for Families
From the WA Dept. of Health, this toolbox provides tips on how to navigate some of the emotional responses that families may experience during the COVID-19 pandemic. The purpose of this toolbox is to provide general information about common emotional responses of children, teens, and families during disasters. Families, parents, caregivers, and educators can use this information to help children, teens, and families recover from disasters and grow stronger.
Talking to Your Kids about Race and Racism
This new half-hour program, “PBS KIDS Talk About: Race & Racism,” features authentic conversations between real children and their parents, and includes content from PBS KIDS series Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood, Arthur, and Xavier Riddle and the Secret Museum.
OSPI K-12 Internet Program
OSPI just launched a new program that allows low-income families to connect to their online learning from home at no cost to them. OSPI will cover the costs of internet connectivity for eligible students for the remainder of the 2020-21 school year. For more information and eligibility criteria click here.

Coal Creek YMCA LEAP Program
The Y is pleased to introduce Y LEAP Academy, a full-day program designed in partnership with individual school districts to support kids and families with distance learning and school-day care along with the enrichment activities, social emotional learning, and play that the Y is known for. Schoolhouse Rec!
Starting September 8th, the Issaquah Parks & Community Services is launching a new full-day program to help with online learning. Schoolhouse Rec! is available for students in grades K-5 and will be assigned to a classroom cohort based on their grade. Each cohort will have a dedicated classroom and staff team to help ensure a healthy learning environment. The school day and program calendar will follow the Issaquah School District plan.
