CLMS Family Update

January 20, 2023

From CLMS Principal, Mr. Eric Pettit

Good Afternoon CLMS Families!

What a week it has been at CLMS! Students and staff have done a great job adjusting to our second semester schedules! Many of our CLMS students have new elective classes including our two new courses, Applied Art and Music Technology! Early this morning, the Cardington FFA welcomed 12 piglets, with more on the way! Needless to say, it has been a busy week.

Highlighted in this update is instructions on how to access quarter 2 report cards. They are now available for view on PowerSchool. As a reminder, the only way to access report cards will be online. If you are having any difficulties, please contact the CLMS office and someone would be happy to assist you!

We are excited to get into our normal routine for the next several weeks, weather permitting. I know that this week was atypical as we had many changes to our daily schedule. Thank you for your flexibility as our staff collaborated during our 2-Hour Late Start this past Wednesday. This is valuable time for us to plan instruction that supports our CLMS learners! Please continue reading for other CLMS updates and do not hesitate to contact the office with any questions!

As always, Go Pirates!

CLMS Classroom Highlight, CLMS 2-Hour Late Start

Big picture
CLMS students have learned to ask the question, "Why?" When this was asked on Wednesday with regards to our 2-Hour Late Start, students were told what actually happens during this time. This month, the CLMS Staff was focused on our One Needs Plan. This is a set of questions that our teachers review, reflect, and respond using the evidence they see in the classroom. The goal is to highlight any themes that may be seen across grade levels, departments, or groups of students. This information is then used to plan future professional development, analyze the root cause of a potential issue, identify trends in the building, and so much more! Although students are not in the building, this time is still being used for their benefit. We are looking forward to continuing this work throughout the next several months.
