New Principal Message
July 3, 2017
I wanted to reach out to everyone and tell you how thrilled I am to represent GMS and the awesome community that surrounds it! As we hit mid-summer, I've had the opportunity to begin planning so many exciting things for our students and parents for the upcoming school year. August will be here before you know it, so it's important to keep up with what's happening with our campus and district.
I've had parents reach out about getting the opportunity to meet me and with the help of the PTA, that will happen in early August. I'll get more information to later this month.
When the school year kicks off, this newsletter will have a different format so that you will be able to get all of your information in one place! As a busy parent myself, it's important to me to be able to go to one place and I know this will help our parents and students. There will be information about STEM, AVID, Dual, Athletics and so much more.
Have an awesome July! Check out some important information below. Pony Pride!

Construction
Yes, construction is definitely taking place! If you've been by the school, you know that it's locked up as crews build our new vestibule entrance and construct our new Learning Commons. I've been posting pictures on Twitter @GrapevineMiddle if you'd like to see updates from time to time. I have been told that it will be ready by August 1st so I'll be checking in on the progress and keeping you updated.
Pony Camp
If you are a parent of an incoming 6th grader, we'd love for your child to attend Pony Camp on August 10th. This is a great time to get your 6th grader excited about the upcoming year, get their digital devices, check out their locker, and purchase some great spirit items from the PTA! Pony Camp will take place from 9:30-11:30!
Schedule Pick-up

Digital Devices for 6th graders
Speaking of digital devices, 6th graders can pick up their laptops on August 10th before Pony Camp. We will be sending forms and payment information later this month! Parents, we really need for you to come in and help your child as they receive their laptop and then take them home with you. This will allow for your child to not have to worry about them during Pony Camp!
PE Uniforms and Athletic Wear
Information regarding this can be found on the school supply list on our home webpage. Information varies depending on which grade level your child is in.
